Individual Math Tutoring

Individual Math support provided for students in grades 6-12. The tutoring sessions will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing students' strengths and needs

  • Developing study skills and habits for mathematics

  • Individualized lessons for better student comprehension of current and past math concepts

  • Direct help with students' assignments and real-world connections of math concepts

  • Taking a little bit of time for fun with and appreciation for the math concepts reviewed

Tutoring services are typically 1-hour sessions, but may vary based on students' needs. Additional services are described below.

Strengthening of Course Skills

Sessions will focus on students catching up on or maintaining their current mathematics coursework. Together we will get a student caught up on missing or upcoming assignments, review and prepare for tests, and build a stronger foundation for their understanding of the current curriculum they are engaging with in school. 

Includes

  • Support with homework

  • Test preparation

  • Support with missing assignments

  • Support for the current content

  • Brief lessons to solidify understanding of concepts.

  • Solidifying of study and learning habits.

  • Support for any questions about the content or other similar math concepts.

Recommendation

Assessment and Core skill training

Sessions will begin with an assessment of a student's mathematical abilities in general or specific course. Once evaluated, students will be helped to shore up weak mathematical areas, develop foundational skills, and improve their mathematical understanding. 

Includes

  • An assessment of general or specific mathematical skills

  • A recommended plan for skill development

  • Guided lessons, examples, and discussions to improve mathematical skills

  • Periodic reports on improvement and next courses of action

Recommendation 

This service requires a first session allotted for assessment. Subsequent sessions may entail additional assessment, as needed, skills development plan review, and individually-tailored, guided lessons.  It is recommended that students enroll in a minimum of 1 session each week [or as indicated by the initial evaluation].  $64 per 1-hour session

Strengthening + Assessment and Core Skills Training

This hybrid service will involve multiple lessons a week. One longer session that focuses on assessing and improving a student's weaker mathematical areas. Two shorter sessions that focus on current coursework and test preparation mastery.

Includes

  • An assessment of general or specific mathematical skills

  • A recommended plan for skill development

  • Guided lessons, examples, and discussions to improve mathematical skills

  • Periodic reports on improvement and next courses of action

  • Support in current coursework as it relates to topics and skills that are a part of the student's target development

Recommendation 

This service requires a single 1-hour session (preferably in-person) and two half-hour sessions of any form per week. Complete the request form below to tailor this service to your student’s current needs.

  One 1-hour session and two 30-minute sessions per week at $128 per week

Pricing

Online

To provide increased flexibility and convenience, online tutoring sessions are available. Online sessions will take place on Skype or Zoom.  Students are expected to be on the tutoring call at the agreed upon time. Students who are more than 15 minutes late will be considered absent. Please note that we are not responsible for late students and/or technical difficulties and session fees will still be charged. 

In-Person at Office

Sessions in-person will take place at the office of Pinecrest Children's Behavioral Health. Students are expected to be in the front waiting room at least 5 minutes before their session. Late students can still be seen, but their session will end at the original and agreed-upon time.

Hybrid visits

In-person tutoring students are welcome to schedule online sessions in the event of weather, illness, or other concerns. Please provide a minimum 24 hour notice to change the location of your visit.
